"Pounding the Pond" at the 

Simplot Western Canadian Pond Hockey Championship!

February 8th-10th 2008

 

The Can-Oat North Stars were crowned the new titleholders at the end of the third annual Simplot Western Canadian Pond Hockey Championship yesterday with a 29-25 victory over McCain Foods Ltd. in the title game played at the Portage Industrial Exhibition fairgrounds. Those involved in the presentation of the first-place plaques included, left to right, co-organizer Jeff Dubois, North Stars players Karl Gerrand, Wes Zacharias, Richard Henderson, Billy Kent and Travis Foster and Simplot Canada Ltd. plant manager Chris Tompkins.
